The location for the Fall sail is Alberta Creek Resort

Alberta Creek Marina has reopened; everything is operating normally in including the boat ramp, RV-Camp sites, Store and Cafe.

The Lake level is still falling and should be very close to normal by September 21 -23

To reserve a Camp site call toll free 877-718-5585 and tell them you are with the BOOTS group. Even with the loss of revenue due to the flood, Bill is honoring his commitment to BOOTS.
There will be a 25% discount in the price of a camp site or Cabin Rental.
Notice: due to a miscommunication on my part below are the adjusted discount rates.

The RV-Camp Sites will cost $15.00 after the discount
The Rentals rent very quickly due to the popularity of the Striper Guide business at ACR so it is best to check with the office to see whats avalible
There are a few slips in front of the camp sites and the owner of A. C. said we could use the Courtesy Slips in front of the cafe and store at no additional cost but he added to be sure and do not block the gas pumps.

If the slips fill up there is ample room in front of my house to anchor several boats

You may visit the Alberta Creek Web Site at www.albertacreek.com where you will find maps and driving directions at www.albertacreek.com/maps/index.html

Google Map with direction pins (directions start at Hwy 70 by the Texoma Lodge entrance.)
Be sure to use the zoom to see all the pins posted on the map

The Cafe and Store will be open from 6:00 A.M. till 2:00 P.M.
They will serve Breakfast and Lunch
The Store has Ice, Beer, Soda, Snacks and other items

This following is not a mandate, simply a suggestion, since Bill the owner of Alberta Creek has been kind enough to give the BOOTS crew discounts for Camp sites, Cabin Rentals and use of the courtesy slips, etc. we take as many opportunities as practical to patronize the Café and Store.

There is a gravel trail leading to the camp sites from the Marina area where the Cafe and store are located.

There is a site for parking larger trailers near the camp site and I will give you instructions on its location when you arrive.

Saturday evening has been suggested as Pot Luck Dinner night, plan for that.

There is a small Grocery Store a bit over 3 miles from Alberta Creek Resort where food items may be purchased.

TIPS:
SECURITY:

Bring a trailer hitch lock (Walmart carries deadbolt hitch locks for $15).
COMFORT: Bring lawn chairs to sit at the main camp site.HEALTH: Bring a first aid kit... Include sunblock, aloe and bug repellentINSECT BITES AND POISON IVY:

Clear Ammonia (full strength and applied quickly) takes the sting away from fire ant bites and wasp stings, and a spray bottle of 1 part clear ammonia and 9 parts water (sprayed on exposed skin) will neutralize the oils in poison ivy and poison oak and prevent the horrid rash.
REFRIGERATION:

Find out who is going for ice at the local convenience store to combine errands.
HISTORY OF LAKE TEXOMA:
Lake Texoma (shared by TEXas and OklahOMA) spreads across 89,000 acres. In the 1930s, a long drought was then followed by a great flood, so the area was ravaged.
It became a national priority to create a reservoir to combat these problems. Approved in 1938, the Army Corps of Engineers was called in to handle it.Although the largest portion of the lake is in Oklahoma, the dam itself is in Denison TX (completed in 1939), which primarily controls the Red River.
The project was finally completed in 1944 and provides drinking water, flood control, conservation (2 wildlife habitats), power generation, and recreation.
